Since there seems to be a lot of drama around this I want to put my opinion out there. Casting In the Heights with non-Latinx performers for the sake of “color blind” casting isn’t the intent of the show? People are comparing it to Hamilton because of the insanely diverse (and amazing) cast but the scenarios are completely different. Hamilton’s story line DOES NOT revolve around the specific culture of a group of people like In the Heights does. Casting all different races and ethnicities for Hamilton is awesome because it’s about America which has so many different people in it. In the Heights is ABOUT a Latinx neighborhood and that’s reflected in the type of music and lyrics. Casting white people etc takes away from that
